Book Delivery Service
Patrons may request books be delivered to the campus of their choice. The materials need not be in the Rowan-Cabarrus libraries; we will borrow them from other libraries if we do not have them. There are no charges for this service.
How it Works:
- Request books by clicking the Request button.
- Watch for an email notification that your items are ready for pick-up.
- Go to your chosen campus library.
- Pick up your items.
- Return the books to a book drop or Library when you are done.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Delivery Speed?
Speed depends on where the Library must request the material. Books in the Rowan-Cabarrus Library will be sent immediately to the designated pick-up location (typically 1 to 2 days). If we must go further away (other community Colleges or universities), the material turnaround time will be approximately ten days. Users may check the Library’s catalog for material availability.
Who may use the service?
Registered Students, Faculty, and Staff who possess a valid Rowan-Cabarrus ID and are in good standing are eligible for the service. Public Patrons are not eligible for this service. Patrons must submit a Rowan-Cabarrus email address. Correspondence will only be sent to a Rowan-Cabarrus email address.
How long do I have to pick-up the materials?
Books will only be held for seven days for pickup. Materials that are not picked up within seven days will be returned to the shelves or lending Library.
Where do I pick-up the book?
Please pick up your materials at your designated pick-up location. Faculty and Staff may request material be delivered to their offices utilizing interoffice mail.

What do I need to show to pick-up my materials?
Materials will only be given to the person requesting the materials. The Patron must show a Rowan-Cabarrus identification card to receive the materials.
Where do I return the materials?
Materials may be returned to any campus library or book return location.
How many items may I request using the Book Delivery service?
Requests are limited to four books per 24-hour period. If more material is needed, the patron can visit their local library to retrieve the materials
What types of materials may you NOT request?
- Textbooks – Libraries do not typically add textbooks to their collections and the few that do will not lend them to other institutions.
- Multiple copies of a single copy
- Materials for placement on reserve
- Reference materials
- Archives and special collections
How long can I keep the materials?
Rowan-Cabarrus-owned materials are subject to its circulation policies, while books borrowed from other libraries are governed by the lending library’s policy.
